Lizzo's "Show-Stopping" Rock-Inspired Look Takes Vanity Fair By Storm

Grammy and recent Emmy-Award-winning pop star Lizzo shows her goth side on the November cover of Vanity Fair.

October 13, 2022, By Peter Bialkowski

Lizzo flaunts her legs and shoulders in a rock-inspired fluffy red dress with fishnets and platform thigh-high boots in her Vanity Fair debut. The award-winning music and TikTok star paired the dress with glossy Act No1 gloves and red fishnets by Pleaser and Yandy. Styled by Dazed Magazine's Patti Wilson, the photo shoot was nothing short of grungy-glam realness.

If that wasn't boujee enough, the self-proclaimed "Bop Star" from Detroit accessorized the outfit with jewelry by Austin James Smith and a white-beaded necklace by Cartier. To top it all off, she went full-on punk rock for her hair, styling it in a dark black mullet with rugged bangs and edges on her cheeks.

When it came to glam, Lizzo didn't hold back her inner goth, featuring a matte-black lip and a dark smokey eye to match.

The red dress wasn't the only show-stopping outfit featured in the issue. In another look, Lizzo rocks Austin James Smith again, wearing a tight black dress with tentacle-like appendages out of the side. She completes the look with a caged headpiece, leather gloves, and black platform boots.

The body-positive singer continues to surprise fans with her photoshoot looks and never fails to disappoint.

“My heart skipped a beat when I saw this,” says Tiktok star Chidera of TasteofChidera in a recent TikTok post. “This is truly art in a dress.”

Another TikTok creator, Mars Orbit, was living for Lizzo’s outfits.

“Lizzo and this mullet is what Vanity Fair needed!” the social media influencer says in a new TikTok post.

Not only did Lizzo go viral on social media, but she also got the attention of celebrities. Model Shaun Ross took to Instagram to show support for the singer.

"URSULA realness and I see @harryhalim_paris on the feet," the actor and recording artist commented under Lizzo's post.

The shoot gained millions of “likes” on the platform, notably from pop girl group icons Jade Thirwall and Lauren Jauregui from former bands Little Mix and Fifth Harmony and television personality/singer Tamar Braxton.

All of Lizzo's looks for the shoot were over-the-top, which is to be expected. The "About Damn Time" singer is next-level when it comes to fashion, music, and self-love. She discusses abortion rights, how she started playing the flute, and growing up as a plus-sized black woman in a fat-phobic society in the issue. Not only that, but she also shuts down claims that she makes music only for white audiences.

The pop singer-songwriter repeatedly proves that she is "100 percent that b*tch," and beauty comes in all shapes and sizes.
